St. Olav menighets segl

St. Olav Catholic Cathedral Parish, Trondheim

Starting a new tradition in St. Olav parish?

We should definitely do this again, says parish priest Egil Mogstad after a very successful parish outing to Tautra Mariakloster on 9. June. On the bus p. Egil shared his rich knowledge of catholic sites in and outside of Trondheim. There was a stop at Logtun church at Frosta to see the church and its unique altarpiece from 1655 depicting the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

During the bus ride the rosary was prayed, and the devotion to Mary continued with Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary with the sisters during mass in the monastery chapel.

Before dinner at Klostergården there was time for shopping and information at the visitor’s centre at Tautra Mariakloster. Later on, the group was allowed into the soap factory to see the production of the famous soaps and creams that the sisters live by.

Two of the sisters were especially happy to meet their fellow citizens among the parishioners – sr. Renata from Poland and sr. Agnes from Vietnam.

Edmund Neverdal from St. Olav parish volunteered as bus driver.

A parish outing of this kind gives us the opportunity to get to know important sites in the Catholic history of our district. This was a great start, which I hope will become a tradition. The sisters at Tautra Mariakloster will be happy to welcome us next year also, says parish priest Egil Mogstad.
