The Catholic Church’s St. Olav Celebration (Olsok) 2019

The program is ready, so do not hesitate to make plans for a pilgrimage to Trondheim for this four days celebration of Norway’s Patron Saint, King and Martyr. The celebration starts on Friday 26 July and ends on the day of the Feast of St. Olav, Sunday 29. July. A detailed program is available on the front page under "Coming events"[more]


First Communion and Confirmation Invitations and info!

Announcement from the Parish office: Letters with information about the first communion catechesis for 2019 and 2020 are sent to all children who are registered members of St. Olav parish and born in 2012. Invitation to confirmation catechesis is likewise sent to all youth who are registered and born in 2005. [more]

Konfirmasjon i St. Olav domkirke

Lørdag 8. juni ble 34 ungdommer konfirmert (fermet) i St. Olav domkirke av generalvikar Ole Martin Stamnestrø som var kommet for anledningen. I sin preken forklarte han hva det betyr å bli fermet i Den katolske kirke: «Jesus vil være nær oss. Dette er kjernen i fermingens sakrament. Jesus vil være nær deg, Han vil dele livet med deg.[more]


Pentecost Party in St. Olav Parish!

Happy birthday! Said parish priest Egil Mogstad after high mass on Pentecost Sunday. He invited all parishioners to celebrate the birthday of the Church, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Church and the apostles. People from the Polish group made a barbeque that lasted the whole day and served delicious food after every mass. [more]


Pentecost or Whit Sunday(Whitsun)

"Pentecost" is from Greek meaning "fiftieth." The name Pentecost was originally given to the Jewish Feast of Weeks(Shavuot) which fell on the fiftieth day after Passover. Originally this feast lasted for seven days. On Shavuot the Jews celebrates that the Torah was given to them on the Mount Sinai, and the wheat is riped for harvest.[more]
