When I look back on the year that is behind us, I am overcome with admiration for the way we have managed to adapt and make the best of what little has been available to us, both in space and money.
All we can do now is to hope and pray that we will be able to stay the distance of this last and probably most exhausting lap. It is tempting to remind ourselves of the old saying that it is always darkest before dawn.
“To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust”. This is what we sing as entrance psalm on the first Sunday of Advent, and with this we announce the theme for the new year in the church.
Let us, this year as always, praise God and trust in him.
