The burial site has clearly been shifted away from the river by the land slide, which took place about 2000 years ago. The landslide deposited a thick layer of clay which has encapsulated the burial site and preserved it. The landslide is more than four metres deep by the river where the church is situated today. It will be very interesting to see if further finds from pre-historic times will be made on the site of St. Olav Church.
