Caritas Trondheim starting in newly refurbished premises

We start on 25. September with language café on Mondays from 18:00 to 20:00, says chair of the board Åshild Kofoed. Caritas is the aid agency of The Catholic Church. The next step will be a course in Norwegian on A1 level, primarily directed towards Polish immigrant workers. The sessions will be held twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00 – 11:00, starting on Monday 2. October.

Additionally, Caritas Trondheim will start an information service in order to help immigrants find jobs. They will be offered training in how to write an application and a cv, how to conduct a job interview and more. EØS-immigrants and refugees with permanent residence are the target groups.

For the time being, all the work is done by volunteers. We hope that good results will lead to future contributions from the authorities, so that we may employ a small staff and expand our activity. The funding we have this year is just enough to pay the rent. Finding volunteers was surprisingly easy. An enthusiastic group of young resourceful people are ready for the tasks ahead, says Åshild Kofoed
