Catholic Forum going strong!

In our digital age it is no longer obvious that the old-fashioned lecture or 'talk', focussing on a given topic, will get people out of their cosy homes on a winter night. But Bodil Evjenth and Solveig Bøe are happy to report that there has been no lack of interested listeners at the monthly gatherings of the rejuvinated Catholic Forum in St. Olav Parish in Trondheim.

Several of the topics have also caught the attention of people from outside the Church, and an impressive number have found their way across the icy access to the rather secluded St. Olav Interim Church.

On March 20.-22. Bodil and Solveig took part in the annual general meeting of the organisation<link http: www.kirkeakademiene.no external-link-new-window external link in new> Norske kirkeakademier (Norwegian Church Academies). They can report that this has given them the opportunity to make contact with other churches and denominations and they see it as a privilege to be able to participate. The topic for this year's meeting was 'Extremism and Fundamentalism'.

The next topic for Catholic Forum will be The Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Does the Church in the Holy Land need the Knights today? Helene Lund, leader of the Norwegian branch of this order, will address the topic. The date is May 5. We will give more details closer to the time.
