The planning group who has prepared the programme is chaired by Rune Kjenstad from Trondheim municipality. Other members of the group are Tove Lofthus from North-Trøndelag county, Knut Vik from South-Trøndelag county, associate professor from HiNT Idar Kjølsvik, representative from the Catholic Church Unn L. Madsø, dean in South-Innherad Nils Aage Aune, and daily leader of Nordic Harvest Mission, Håkon Fagervik.
The planning group has its mandate from the Program of Cooperation, part 8, which among other things states: ”The Trøndelag Council wishes to continue the ecumenical dialogue and all religious dialogue by opening for alternative arrangements whereby the Nidaros Cathedral can become an international and ecumenical site of pilgrimage, and together with Stiklestad form a national centre for ecumenical and religious dialogue representing rspect for other faiths and religions.”
