St. Olav Cathedral has been consecrated!

Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, Archbishop Emeritus of Westminster, consecrated our new Cathedral during a splendid Solemn Pontifical Mass on the 19th of November. The Sanctuary lamp is from now on kept alight before the Tabernacle to honour the presence of Christ in our church.

The two renowned choirs Nidarosdomens guttekor and Schola Sanctae Sunniva carried the participants through this three hours long liturgy. The new church passed the test, everything worked as it should, even though the church and the choir was filled to capacity.

Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor thanked for the lovely experience and concluded that next time he sees Pope Francis in Rome, he will pass on the great joy of this event.
