Thank you for coming, Thérèse, Louis and Zélie of Lisieux!

There was a solemn and intense atmosphere in St. Olav Cathedral as the parish and the visiting pilgrims bid farewell to the visiting saints on Sunday 14. October. Three days of liturgical celebration, adoration and prayers by the two reliquaries was nearing its end, as the relics were to leave for Falun in Sweden, their next stop.

What does this family of saints from the late 19thcentury have in common with our own St. Olav, with his background in the Viking era, asked parish priest Egil Mogstad in his homily during the high mass. We can hardly imagine a more diverse background. There is no receipt when it comes to holiness, he continued. There are as many ways to holiness as there are individuals in this world. We become holy as we develop into the person God meant us to be, it is in the deep longing for God that holiness is born.

Let us pray that the visit by these saints will act as a calling to St. Olav parish and our Diocese towards holiness, father Egil concluded.
