Trondheim Cathedral Parish is not just the congregation in Schirmersgate in Trondheim. The parish has congregations throughout the county, and mass is celebrated every month in Oppdal, at Støren, Ørlandet, Frøya and Løkken Verk. We have joined in some of these masses. [more]

The cost of the baptismal font in new St. Olav Cathedral is now covered!

As the old year came to an end, twenty persons from the Vietnamese group in the parish donated NOK 100.000 as a gift towards the cost of the baptismal font. In addition, two families have promised further gifts. The cost of the baptismal font is a large investment which now, with all this generosity, is covered.[more]

Ecumenical retreat with the Bridgetine Sisters at Tiller 19-21 February 2016

The retreat is organized in cooperation between the Bridgetines and "Retreat in Nidaros". The weekend will focus on silence, Bible meditation, praying canonical hours and both Catholic and Protestant masses. Personal one-to-one dialogues are possible. There is a beautiful Catholic tradition in connection with the celebration of Epiphany on 6. January: the Blessing of peoples' homes. Originally, the parish priest would visit each home and write above the door with a piece of chalk. This is hardly practical in larger cities.
