This can inspire us to a special immersion in the events of the Gospel. The Rosary is a meditative prayer which may put us in touch with what really happened more than 2000 years ago. The Rosary is prayed in St. Olav Cathedral every day of October at 5:30pm.[more]


September 29: Michaelmass, the feast of the archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael

The liturgy celebrates the feast of these three archangels who are venerated in the tradition of the Church. Michael (Who is like God?) was the archangel who fought against Satan and all his evil angels, defending all the friends of God. He is the protector of all humanity from the snares of the devil.[more]

An enjoyable meeting with priests and lay people from Bonifatiuswerk.

The visit from Germany ended with high mass, followed by “kirkekaffe” (coffee and food after mass) on Sunday 23. September. On Saturday evening our guests participated at a church gathering where delicious food of different national origins was served, and people from the parish entertained. [more]


Will the Archangel Michael be in place on Michaelmas 29. September?

Many will have noticed the newly installed stone pedestal standing by the confessional In St. Olav Cathedral, wondering what it’s purpose may be. It is waiting for a large statue of St. Michael, parish priest Egil Mogstad tells us. It is an old wooden statue from the 17th century, in great need of restoration.[more]

20 Germain Catholics from Bonifatiuswerk will be visiting St. Olav parish, and since they wish to meet the parishioners, there will be a parish gathering at 19:30 in the parish hall, after mass in English on Saturday 22.
